HDX ear tags and FDX ear tags are types of electronic identification (EID) devices used for livestock management. Both types of ear tags are inserted into the animal's ear and contain a microchip with a unique code that can be read by an electronic reader.

Half-duplex HDX (Half Duplex) technology is another communication method between tags and readers specified in ISO11784/5. Compared with full-duplex (FDX), HDX usually has stronger recognition capabilities.

The main difference between the two types of ear tags is their operating frequency. HDX ear tags operate at a higher frequency (134.2 kHz) and have a longer read range, while FDX ear tags operate at a lower frequency (125 kHz) and have a shorter read range.

HDX ear tags are commonly used to track and monitor large herds of livestock. They are ideal for use in feedlots, auction lots and large processing facilities. HDX ear tags feature long read range and high accuracy.

FDX ear tags are more suitable for individual animal identification and tracking. . FDX ear tags are also used for animal health management, but on a smaller scale than HDX ear tags. Their reading range is shorter.

Both HDX and FDX ear tags are durable and can withstand harsh environments. They are made from water-, stain- and UV-resistant materials to ensure longevity and reliability in the field.

HDX ear tags and FDX ear tags are electronic identification devices used for livestock management. HDX ear tags are ideal for large-scale operations, with longer read range and high accuracy, while FDX ear tags are better suited for individual animal identification. Can be used for individual identification in the management of breeding stock, dairy products, fattening stock and animal slaughter.
